History

The Institutional Advancement Office (IAO) of the University of Cape Coast was officially inaugurated in 2015, as a Section under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. This was in line with the 2013-2017 Corporate Strategy of the University of Cape Coast which captured the vision of the University in the following words: “To have a University that is strongly positioned, with worldwide acclaim”. Towards the realization of the University’s vision, there was therefore an increasing demand on University Management to find alternative ways to respond to the changing needs of the University of Cape Coast. The rapid expansion in the constituent units of the University, called for creative solutions to respond to the attendant drain on scarce resources. A second reason for the set-up of the office was borne out of a need to streamline and revamp alumni relations activities which had been dormant over the years.
